Yeah, so which one’s the odd one out?

Currently the happiest tag I have.

I ship literally everything that you do besides Puckleberry, and that’s only because I don’t watch Glee.
I think we are soulmates.

Tori’s Never Ending Spotlight

wervictorious:

I started getting annoyed with the endless attention on Tori by the end of Season 1. But at this point, with Tori Goes Platinum airing this weekend, and rumors of Tori Fixes Beck and Jade circulating, I’m completely fed up with the “Perfect Tori” plot. On Dan’s other shows, there are cleary main characters. But I’ve never watched a show of his where the main character gets this much attention. On iCarly, the five characters tend to share the screeen time fairly equally. On Zoey 101, Zoey did get a lot of attention, but she didn’t get every oppurtunuity in the world. Now, on Victorious, nearly every single plot line is centered around Tori Vega. Dan has created excellent characters and casted extremly talented people for this show. Yet he doesn’t take advantage of that nearly as much as he should. Tori singing at every event, even when she is a newer student that lacks confidence in some areas? Unrealistic. Tori saving the day all the time? Unrealistic.  And furthermore, what is that teaching young kids? That the pretty, girly girls with good parents and a little bit of money in their family gets everything? And the awkward nerd, the ditzy redhead, and the not so girly girl with a bad childhood get nothing? That’s not a good lesson at all. The fans are getting tired of Tori always having the spotlight, and if Dan doesn’t start to change that, I think he’s going to be in trouble.

Yes. I am so sick of it. This is why Cat and Jade seem to have bigger fanbases than Tori at this point. Cat’s always been a fan favorite, and Jade is totally and completely justified in disliking Tori.

I understand that Tori is the main character, but really now? Has she changed at all since . . well, since the pilot?

HOW CAN YOU EVEN BE REAL: (On having new cast members on Skins) I’m very excited to work with some new people and see how the show changes. But I think it’s good to have a fresh start. Because people do move on, people do leave. So, it’s great that they’re doing it. It’s different as well. It’s very exciting.” -Kaya Scodelario.
